Small
Small
Small towns
swept clean;
fresh paint
on history;
a speck
of main street
silent
except for the breeze
and rustle of leaves
and laughter from the restaurant
of Sunday brunch–
because we know,
the small numbers
who choose
this place,
that good things
come in small packages–
small enough to show care
on history
fresh paint;
swept clean–
small town.

I love the way you capture the beauty of small towns in this piece.
Thanks. We loved that visit– quiet, full of history and nice people. I love it when the history and architecture is saved through the care of the people who live there.
