Not red-breasted
This covey of quail
But striped with plumes
Bob bob bobbin’ their trail
Scratching, pecking
Seeds from summer blooms
Singing “Chicago” while some sing “squill.”

She held it up in the palm of her right hand. It was about four inches in diameter and seemed to be similar to the vessel found at the archeological dig.

She continued, “As you can see, it is similar to the discovered vessel, but it’s inside is red-orange, a bit of inner earth and a bit of the sun. And, there is a lavender colored seed above the middle black seed— it’s a june grass seed.

And inside,” she turned the pot upside down in her other hand, letting fall two tear-drop shaped stones, one teal and one translucent grey.
