I know the experience. My teenage sons attended my graduation ceremony for my BA,ED degree at Eastern Washington University in 1985. It was a moment of excitement and pride that I could accomplish this. I was so glad they were there to see it…
They sat in the top row of the auditorium, but did not go quietly or subtly with the usual appreciation. Sigh. No, instead, they dropped super-balls when my name was called.
