Day 805 Mothers Day Watercolor

May Doodle

My CLmooc friends doodle every day.

Today my watercolor class taught me about petals and messy watery areas. And the result is a lovely Happy Mothers Day greeting: an echinacea coneflower from the Teela Cunningham Messy Watercolors class.

I am blessed with intelligent and loving mothers, caring deeply and providing for their children, my grandchildren. How fortunate we all are— and how I love each for their unique ways of helping to nurture and then ”let go” of the children to be their own selves— the greatest gift of motherhood.

And my own mother— choosing to stay home and take in ironing and babysitting while caring for her three children and husband. I’ve written before about her most important gift to me: to look beneath a person’s actions — we do not know the struggles others go through; accept them as they are and forgive any times they are contrary.

May all the mothers of the world enjoy this day with their loved ones.

And may all women have the choice of planning the timing of their motherhood.
