They Left It

Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. On our walk today the lovely Japanese maple on Barb’s corner dropped most of its leaves and the result is this lovely meditative place. I may make this my wallpaper on my computer for a while.

Let me share the original photo for you, in cause you’d like to borrow it for personal use:

It inspired this poem for National Novel Writing Month: NaNoWriMo.

They Left It

They left it
There in the woods by the stone
And the fiery maple;
They left it
There for quiet thoughts in the world
And the fiery chaos.
They left it
There for solace of your soul
Soothing fiery sorrows.
They left it.
