Day 425 Patience
Daily Note
Every day, a photograph, a poem. [waiting for photo]
The cat has been inside all day today because of the loud noise of the tree-cutting business in our neighbor’s yard.
So, when the noise subsided, she rushed outdoors to check her recent foray into the lavender bushes where we believe a mouse or two must live.
There she poised herself, still, ready to pounce, eyes focused on the movement of whatever it is in the lavender. For a long time– ten or minutes. She’d changed positions depending on where the creature wandered, but always alert, focused for just the right moment with just the right movement to capture the thing that is there.
Patience
Tense. Focused. Alert.
Paws steady, ready to pounce:
Cat, poised statue, waits.
