Day 378 MarchDoodle Reptile

MarchDoodle

My CLmooc friends doodle everyday. Today I chose “reptile” as a prompt from DoodleADay ElloLovey. See all the entries here: DoodleADayMarch. Also, some of us are also participating in the “#sketchdesignrepeat #3x3designchallenge” sketch design challenge.

Like I said last MarchDoodle, I’m working on a project for a friend about the Guadalupe Mountains, and this is a practice one, in a stylized version— before I attempt a more realistic version. The succulents are tree chollo. The little blue lizard is a little striped whiptail lizard because he is the smallest of the lizards in the Guadalupe Mountains. The tan lizard is a Texas Horned Lizard- he’s the chunky one. And the lovely teal lizard really is bright blue— especially the males. He’s an Eastern collared lizard. They are scampering through the dry, red earth of the arid area in search of the insects they eat for dinner.

I want to work on an even more stylized version in folk art style with a few more desert flowers.
