Day 313 Renewed
Daily Notes
A Daily Challenge to myself: a photograph and poetry. Today, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris brought civility, dignity, and compassion back to the White House and the country. I could exhale. I could breathe. I am no longer afraid for what the day might bring because I know that this government is caring for the important business of the people.
Renewed
Amongst the decay
the fresh and hopeful inspire;
compassion renewed.

Poetry / Photography
Although I share my poem and photograph, it is Amanda Gorman who should be heard today. Amanda is the first Youth Poet Laureate of the United States. Her poetry resonates with those of us so distraught about not only the last four years, but also January 6th. We are renewed and on a mission for justice for all.
January Doodle
For my doodle a day with my friends at CLmooc, #jandoodle, with prompts for Spoonflower, I created a block and a pattern for the prompt, “pyjamas or pajamas.” How fun is that? I loved this, but it took awhile to get the background [dots] that I wanted. I can create the background seen below with multi-sized and ordered dots, but I wanted a background of rows of dots that form a pattern that can be repeated. It’s more difficult than it looks, and I could not get the dots to line up. So, back to what I can do– the random dots. I hope you like it:
Daily Create
The Daily Create #tdc3296 today asked us to create a quatrain with our own image. There are different types of quatrain, and I chose a memoriam quatrain stanza with an ABBA rhyme pattern.
HOPE
So smear by smear, and lie by lie,
The laurel wreath turned dark to frame
A block on truth ’til votes reclaimed
A bridge of hope for all, now nigh!
It’s not perfect, but it reflects the disgusting behavior of the past reclaimed with the hope and compassion of the new.
May you find the bridge of compassion as we move forward.
