Window to Windows
While eating, gaze out the large window across the street where next to the bold building of brick is a mess of all sizes of windows, each able to open up so the artists within enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of the city while working on projects at the Schack Art Center.
One wonders of the history of this place– how such a jumble of horizontal and vertical and rectangle came to be. The Schack Art Center Fact Sheet provides the history of its purpose and growth:
To celebrate and promote the arts for the enhancement of community life
Programs for schools, juvenile centers, city park programs find their home here: a community asset that many cities could follow. Artists learn and grow and share here in galleries and workshops.
The art center itself offers a window to the world of art and is one of the important places to visit in Everett, WA.
