Kites
Kites, unaware of
fear of flying, unlike me,
Soar and dive above;
Unaware of joys and fears;
Today I fly to sadness.

I watched a kite flyer today, he seemed like all business. Your last line leaves me thinking…”Today I fly to sadness.” I don’t associate kites with sadness…hmmmm.
Kim, the photo of kites is a display at the Spokane airport. I’m visiting my brother who is terminally ill. Hence the poem.
I’m so sorry! There’s also something sad and lonely about kites inside away from the wind.
