SOL19 Day 8 In the Sky

In the Sky

A shadow passes

above:

dark waterfowl

flapping always,

flying from the pond

to the harbor,

returning now

huddled black shapes-

dark ghosts

on spring’s

still dormant tree,

wings held out

drying

after diving

in the harbor,

fishing.

Cormorants.

    • Thanks. It took some research to figure out what kind of birds they were– the hooked duck-like beak as they flew by gave us the clue. They were too silent to be crows in that tree!
