SOL19 Day 8 In the Sky
In the Sky
A shadow passes
above:
dark waterfowl
flapping always,
flying from the pond
to the harbor,
returning now
huddled black shapes-
dark ghosts
on spring’s
still dormant tree,
wings held out
drying
after diving
in the harbor,
fishing.

I love the reflection in the photo…stunning shot! (Beautiful poem too!)
Thanks. It took some research to figure out what kind of birds they were– the hooked duck-like beak as they flew by gave us the clue. They were too silent to be crows in that tree!
