Let Go

Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. Yesterday we drove out to Steamboat Rock State Park and drove down a road we’ve passed by for 30 years, stopping once just a bit in to set up a rocket launching area with the grandkids. Today we drove all the way to the lake– not far, a quarter mile maybe and stood in silence at the gentle lapping ripples near tule and cattail as dragonflies darted around us. A memory for meditation.

Let Go

Find a place of peace
To hold within your mind
Something held in memory
That gentle breeze
Flowing ripples
toward the shore
Tule and cattail
swaying, swaying
Dragonfly speeding by
hovering, just there, beside you
beneath a sky of blue
with but a single string of clouds
Breathe in and breathe out
Breathe in and breathe out
Breathe in and be part
Breathe out and let go
Breathe in with your heart
Breathe out with your soul
Held within your mind
This place of peace
Letting chaos go
Keeping calm and peace
in love the goal.
