Mountain Ash

Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. On our walk today the blossoms on the mountain ash [Rowan] near the path down to the wooden footbridge across Fiddle Creek filled the tree in a lovely green and white bouquet to sooth the mind and bless the eyes who choose to pause in awe of nature’s beauty and bounty. It lessened the stress about stress and anxiety that seems to have overtaken us— there’s only so much chaos the mind can take. Walks and talks allow Scott and I to feel a bit release, and the beauty of our neighborhood— its people and its nature bring solace. And in our pause to enjoy the blossoms, we noted how those blossoms soon would be the berries in which the birds delight. This is a very giving tree.

And so, a poem:

Mountain Ash

For you in spring I flower in white
For birds I feed in berry delight.
