Spring Crab Apple

Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. Yesterday our entire street was pink from our lovely crab apple trees. In the winter, we shake the trees so the crab apples fall on the ground for the winter creatures, mostly the starving mule deer. We’re delighted to be able to help. The apples are so small, but oh, right now their blossoms fill the street with pink blossoms.

Crab Apple

Winter comes—
Creatures cold—
Glad to shake
Off our tree
Little apples
Barely there
But lo! Spring blossoms
Fill the air!
