Four Petals

Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. Yesterday we took a walk in the park, and look at the lovely blossoms we discovered in a tree overlooking the Columbia River. It’s a beautiful dogwood — almost like a magnolia the way the flowers dance on the end of each branch, stretching to the sky and sharing their loveliness with us. And so a poem.

Four Petals

Just four petals
Of a flower blooming now
Aroma so sweet
A treat
from the dogwood tree.

Just four petals
Dancing on the edge
Reaching for the sky
So high
A gift for you and I.
