Brush Pen
Daily Note
Every day, a photograph, a poem. Today I thought of “small poems,” since it’s Easter and a short, small poem will send me out into today’s sunshine sooner.
I love the small poems of Valerie Worth in her many collections of Small Poems. Last year, my CLmooc friends and I wrote and shared poems in our Poetry Port Slideshow. You may found some inspiration there.
I returned to a poem I wrote at that time for my blue pen:
I wrote better poems back then. Today, I tried for a short poem, a small poem about my art pens– the brush pens. Instead, I wrote four haiku and then created the bit of life — the art that the poem and the pen painted.

Holding a rainbow
in my hand a memory
flows across the pageSwirls of joy in blues
Waves of the lake and sunshine
Summer yellow smiles. Two dark blobs placed so
With hearts of pink swirled around
Sadness brushed with love.Bursts of bright curved strokes

Of paths for joys invited—
Steady forward hope.
