Shadows of Summer

Daily Note
Every day, a photograph, a poem. Though I love the brightness of sunshine on a snowy day, the walk across the snow can be treacherous, given our fluctuating temperatures of warming and freezing. I sigh and remember the sunshine of summer, a shadow of memory today.
Shadows of Summer
As winter shadows
Sheri Edwards
Fall on slippery snow
Melting and freezing
With the north wind’s breath,
I remember the shadows of summer
On shades of green
Offering respite from sun’s searing
Heat from what must be the breath
Of the south wind
I think.
