NovDoodle Olivia’s Sign

November Doodle

My CLmooc friends doodle every day. During November, my doodles will usually be from the writing for National Novel Writing Month: NaNoWriMo.

This year, my story So Says the River continues as the characters search for the dragons that help keep the balance among the many worlds. A new sighting and event had occurred, but what does it mean?

Angie attempts to draw Olivia into the family, to bring her from the darkness of solitude into the light of community.

Excerpt:

With my walking stick, I walked ahead then turned around and, in my several of my footsteps, drew a circle with a teardrop inside. I’d thought long and hard for a sign, and this seemed perfect— two parts, one a circle that goes on and on and one a teardrop, because of the sorrow Olivia must feel being so disconnected. At first I drew her smile— a straight, thin line since she never smiles, but that seemed like something that would hold her back, keep her where she was in her sadness— and that thinking brought me ‘round to draw a teardrop. Tears flow from sorrow and joy, and my hope is to bring Olivia from her oneness to our wholeness to connect us in joy.
