Day 560 Wildfire
Daily Note
Every day, a photograph, a poem. On our Sunday drive through the wildfire area, this photo also hit hard: Ponderosa Pine are fire resistant— they are tough trees, and can often survive most fires, but the fires of today seem to be stronger, larger, hotter.
Wildfire
Though fire resistant,
even Ponderosa Pine
died in wildfire’s rage;
flames rose and blacken the trunk,
needles burned and fell.
