Day 554 Hawthorn

Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. Last week I snapped this picture of our neighbor’s hawthorn tree, loving its berries and knowing soon our new hawthorn tree will also be blooming with spring blossoms and fall berries. About three years ago, our hawthorn blew over in the wind, just missing our van in the driveway! And last year the city replaced it with a new one– we love hawthorns. Did you know the berries are edible– I’m not advocating eating them, but you could check it out:

Hawthorn

Blooms of white in spring,

Berries bright red in autumn:

year ‘round Hawthorn joy.
