Day 548 Same Last Year

Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. Last year, on September 10, we walked along Banks Lake at North Dam Park in Electric City. The skies were smokey then as they are this year due to the wildfires. We once would say to each other, “We live here,” as a grateful comment on our beautiful are, but now, of course, climate change is painting a different story on our landscape.

Same This Year

Pleasant, but smokey,

the evening walk lakeside calms

weary minds and hearts.
