Day 511 Daily Create 60s Fashion

Daily Create

Today’s Daily Create [ @ds106dc #tdc3493 ] Early 1960s fashion

I choose this typical “shift” style with the elegance of the early 60s popularity of Audrey Hepburn and Jacqueline Kennedy. This sleeveless dress and matching coat was worn by First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy, Rajasthan, India, March 18, 1962.

I found both Public Domain images through a search of Wikimedia Commons:

  • Shift Dress [John F. Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons]
  • Visit to India [Cecil W. Stoughton, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons]

I remember this style very well.

Here I am in my shift style red jumper, 1965 and squort set [skirt/shorts], 1966:

Most of my clothes were hand-me-downs from my cousin, Christine, for which I was always felt grateful– she was always in style.

We didn’t have to worry about disease because we were vaccinated. Things change.

Get vaccinated.
