Daily Create
Today’s Daily Create [ @ds106dc #tdc3471 ] is paper weaving!
I did my paper weaving digitally– but then friend Ronald tweeted his:
So I gathered supplies — a copy of our very own newspaper, a copy of our visitor guide [our meaning– my remarkable husband is publisher/editor].
I considered the process:
- cut vertical strips of the news paper so the columns could be read
- cut horizontal strips of the cover of the visitor guide to create a horizontal picture in the rows
- weave
- slide onto a “base” square
- add washi tape border
- “Square” out words for a poem within the columns of newspaper text
And, here it is:
So thank you, Ronald, for inspiring a fun and playful activity for a day filled with wildfires to the north, smoke all around, and heat and wind that is not helping the fire fighters, whom our entire community thanks for their efforts to save lives and homes.
