450.11 Moth

Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. On the back screen door we have a visitor common to this area, although I did not know it. We live near a river in the dry part of the state, so these creatures do find their way around us.

It’s a Pachysphinx modesta, Big Poplar Sphinx Moth and lives wherever willows and cottonwoods grow. These adult moths don’t eat. Imagine that!

furry, scalloped winged, large headed

moth peeks through our door.
