Day 435 Audience of Cattails

Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. Today, we took a drive up the hill and out to Banks Lake, just past the golf course on the road that ends up in the lake.

It’s our favorite place in the evening on a hot day where the cool breeze helps relieve the heat and birds sing to us.

Today, the red-winged black birds sang new songs we had not heard before and we listened and smiled, watching the kayakers further out in the lake.

Audience of Cattails

The lake’s edge whispers

in dried cattails, audience

to songs of blackbirds.
