Day 395 One Ear
Daily Note
Every day, a photograph, a poem. Today and yesterday I could snap a photo of the tomcat in the neighborhood who is training Itty Bitty to be nice. He’s old and smart enough to know a good thing, so, since we started feeding him, he’s been “friends” with our cat and chases off the neighbor’s cats who pick on our cat, the youngest one in the neighborhood.
He’s got one ear and moans around the outside of the house like he’s dying, but he’s huge so we know he lives somewhere around here and is fed elsewhere. Yet, we could not let the big cat who “looked” like he was lost this winter be the cat who starved because we didn’t feed it.
His expressions in his eyes are just like our cat’s so somewhere down the line, they’re cousins of a kind. He’s the only cat that our cat tolerates.
His one ear earned him our name for him: Juanier.
