Today, I took another art class, because learning to be an artist is my retirement life. And the class is Charly Clements Characters With Confidence on Skillshare.
Life is rather funny– and a serendipity– because I did not know that the Daily Create would need characters today, or that the MarchDoodle prompt is “female,” AND that it is International Women’s Day with a #choosetochallenge.
I was able to take my class and apply the strategies right away to create my Daily Create and this MarchDoodle. Always learning to make the world better— so it also became my Slice of Life Daily Note— a photograph and a poem because everyday I try to learn and be better for the world.
It took quite a while to create each character– this is just the mini-project, and I’m delighted I could use my skills to support International Women’s Day and their causes:
A challenged world is an alert world and from challenge comes change.
So let’s all choose to challenge.
How will you help forge a gender equal world?Source: https://www.internationalwomensday.com/
Celebrate women’s achievement. Raise awareness against bias. Take action for equality.
The illustration includes a diverse group of four women, each presenting their mission. The first carries the banner “Choose to Challenge” along with her friend, next to her, whose t-shirt says, “Stand Up for Something MORE Than You.” That phrase comes from the Spoken Word poet, Anisa Nanduala. The next friend holds up her hand in the #choosetochallenge pledge. Finally, the fourth friend carries the Choose to Challenge sign to really carry the message. Smiling and enjoying themselves, these four women carry the passion of the future to make the world gender equitable. And that will have a tremendous affect on families around the world, when women have equitable opportunities with men.
Will you Choose to Challenge?
