Day 358 MarchDoodle Lamp
MarchDoodle
My CLmooc friends doodle everyday. Today I chose “lamp” as a prompt from DoodleADay ElloLovey. See all the entries here: DoodleADayMarch.
This was so fun.
First, I searched for desk lamps on google for ideas. then I started with the background and the top texture layer. Next I began drawing the outline of each lamp’s shape, keeping them simple, yet unique, and placed each in its square.
For each lamp, the outline became a “reference” layer so I could choose the space for one color [or two related colors] and color them in [ink bleed brush] on separate layers. Once the colors were done, I clipped layers to add texture. I repeated this for each lamp. Then I added in highlight [white/ink bleed] and a soft blur of light below each lamp shade with soft airbrush or “noise” brush. Finally, I gave each lamp a place to sit.
It took quite a while but I watched tv with Scott while inking. It seems I’ve got always be drawing.
Fun, right? But the most fun part was sharing it on FB and discovering my friend and book club colleague who is 94 once took her fancy long dresses and made them into lamp shades!
That might be fun to do during Covid times!
