Day 341 Warmth

Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem.

I should have waited for the sunshine for this, but with Texas without power, I felt a wish for warmth was in order. My friends from Texas actually aren’t there — they luckily are in Virginia and enjoying light snow and no power outages.

The Texas Tribune explains the causes and includes ways to help: Texas Tribune 2/16/21 — despite what Fox News and the Texas governor claim.

Texas officials knew winter storms could leave the state’s power grid vulnerable, but they left the choice to prepare for harsh weather up to the power companies — many of which opted against the costly upgrades. That, plus a deregulated energy market largely isolated from the rest of the country’s power grid, left the state alone to deal with the crisis, experts said.

Warmth

Even an old house

charms a welcome to others;

homes add warmth to hearts.
