I should have waited for the sunshine for this, but with Texas without power, I felt a wish for warmth was in order. My friends from Texas actually aren’t there — they luckily are in Virginia and enjoying light snow and no power outages.

Texas officials knew winter storms could leave the state’s power grid vulnerable, but they left the choice to prepare for harsh weather up to the power companies — many of which opted against the costly upgrades.
