Multi-colored bachelor buttons and white daisies with yellow centers, each in clumps, here and there. The lovely flowers thickened the closer I stepped towards the spring. Sometimes it seemed as if the daisies wrapped around my legs in an anklet of woven stems. My legs felt heavy, like I was lifting the earth with every step.
