Day 242 NaNoWriMo Whirlpool
Excerpt from So Says The River
Angie added to her journal, “I remember what happened now. I stepped into a hole in the river— and it really IS a hole in the river. I don’t think it has a bottom. I kept falling. I think I was pulled in by something. I didn’t feel anything touching me— just like I was at the bottom of a whirlpool and swirling down with it. I tried to swim, but I couldn’t move— all parts of me were being pulled down, not floating or swirling with the current, just a pull down faster and faster.
“All of a sudden something slid beneath my feet while I was still falling, slowing me down and then pushing me back up and up and up and I could actually breathe, like a bubble was around my head and next thing that same ‘something’ was slapping me towards shore. I guess it was a dragon. It saved my life.”
