Day 129 Four

I’m taking a new class from Skillshare by Tracey Capone using Affinity Designer, a vector and rastor application on desktop and iPad. It’s amazing. But that’s not what this post is about. It’s not about the four flowers in this image, my first practice from the class.

  1. First Amendment

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

The President is not the decider to make an executive order to fight peaceful protests against federal buildings and statues with federal, unmarked, fully-armed, camouflaged military-like criminals who have not taken an oath to defend the Constitution, but rather have probably taken an oath to Donald J Trump, the emperor with no clothes.

Can you detain and arrest the few who are causing damage? Yes, but that’s not what is happening.

2 Force

Here’s what’s happening, according to  Oregon Public Broadcasting:

They had barely made it half a block when an unmarked minivan pulled up in front of them.

“I see guys in camo,” O’Shea said. “Four or five of them pop out, open the door and it was just like, ‘Oh shit. I don’t know who you are or what you want with us.’”

Federal law enforcement officers have been using unmarked vehicles to drive around downtown Portland and detain protesters since at least July 14. Personal accounts and multiple videos posted online show the officers driving up to people, detaining individuals with no explanation of why they are being arrested, and driving off.

The tactic appears to be another escalation in federal force deployed on Portland city streets, as federal officials and President Donald Trump have said they plan to “quell” nightly protests outside the federal courthouse and Multnomah County Justice Center that have lasted for more than six weeks.

These are American law enforcement officers acting like soldiers who assault Americans in our own country— like SECRET POLICE!

Remember– no one an elected position, not the mayor of Portland, not its Senators, not its governor requested federal help.  They have asked them to leave, but Trump keeps them there.

So now, Oregon must sue the federal government.

3 False Accusations

America was founded on revolution against tyranny. The protests are about tyranny– white supremacy policies that affect people of color. It’s about the murder of a black man under the knee of a police officer. We have the freedom to assemble, protest, and petition the government.

According to the article, Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Chad Wolf had this to say, although it is a deliberately false representation of what is happening:

In a letter released Thursday, Wolf said, “Portland has been under siege for 47 straight days by a violent mob while local political leaders refuse to restore order to protect their city.”

“A federal courthouse is a symbol of justice,” Wolf wrote, denigrating protests against racism in the United States’ criminal justice system as an angry mob. “To attack it is to attack America.”

No. That is where we petition. That is where we protest. That is where the government is supposed to listen. And, according to many videos and many witnesses, it is the federal troops that are causing further agitation and stronger protests. Even the mothers of Portland are protesting— and getting gassed.

Is this your America?

More false accusations on the part of Trump:

Acting U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Mark Morgan called the protesters criminals.

“I don’t want to get ahead of the president and his announcement,” Morgan said, “but the Department of Justice is going to be involved in this, DHS is going to be involved in this; and we’re really going to take a stand across the board. And we’re going to do what needs to be done to protect the men and women of this country.”

In other words, the secret police are coming to your town or city. They are coming for you, should you stand in the streets with your hands empty, saying, “Enough with the racism.” They will come and beat you if you ask, “Are you fulfilling your oath to the Constitution?”

4 Freedom and Representation

Yes, the First Amendment guarantees the right to assemble and protest. And no, American soldiers do not attack and fight against Americans, no matter who they support.

Americans don’t use force against one anther — we deliberate.  We problem-solve. We come together with our grievances and solve them.

This is the most corrupt presidency in United States history, and this latest tactic of dividing Americans in the act of a right to protest is the first act of a new America ruled by a dictator.

Wake up, America.

Write your

Congressional Representatives and Senators.

Get this stopped now!
