Day 13

Rainbuds small

My Tree Grows

Cold days

cold days

cold days more.

Fall bud dormant,

hard, holding fast

until

cold days

cold days

cold days no more.

Sunshine warms

sunshine warms

sunshine warms spring.

Fall bud bursts

green, growing sprouts

as

Sunshine warms

sunshine warms

sunshine warms spring.

Prompt:

Take time to observe a tree or plant in your area. Write about it. Draw it. Describe it. Paint it. Enjoy it. Watch it all year and repeat your process in a journal about your plant or tree. Here’s an activity that includes writing a poem: Project Learning Tree Poet-Tree

Resources for Learning about Spring Tress

This is an interesting article about trees in 2009-2010. However, this site is a “news aggregator,” which means it simply pulls news from elsewhere. That means that you, the reader, must verify its relevance and quality by reviewing the information source and other sources. I did find the professor interviewed here, here, and here. The last link is a link to his academic papers on plants, so it seems the interview is accurate.
