Slice of Life Watch Out For…
Do you love summer trips — those weekend excursions to new or favorite places? This July, we travelled to many of our favorite places, and one especially reminded us of how rural and interesting our little corner of the world is.
Our trip over Washington State Route Highway 20 through the North Cascades National Park was slow and peaceful.
However, a few areas that could have used some warning signs.
You know those “Watch for Falling Rock” signs? We’d like to suggest a few more.
Of course, before we’d even reached Highway 20, we’d passed one of the areas of high deer kill — Highway 97 along the Methow River.
But then we found the Open Range, a reminder of the Wild West where the “Open Range” cows you find around that curve– well, — if you hit them, you pay.
And around the corner from those, tractors.
And so began our scenic journey. I made a list, which I just found on my desk. It’s a slice of our journey:
