NaPoWriMo Turkey

 

TURKEY

Though not beautiful,

it commands respect

in its size,

pointed beak,

and spurred legs,

but even if found

plucking the tops

of seeded dandelions

while ambling and pecking,

watching and listening,

through your yard,

do flutter your own wings,

do squawk your own voice,

lest this fine creature

decide to stay

as boss of your

roost.
