NaPoWriMo Helicopter
Helicopter
Whirling and twirling,
they flutter and fall,
a helicopter spin
down into
the perfect
crevice,
no more
wind to
whisk it away,
just a soft landing,
holding it –moist and dark–
to open and spread
tiny white sprouts
before the stem
pushes up,
reaching to the light
to spread
it’s first
maple
leaf.
