NaPoWriMo Diversity

In any community,

I love that a tree

in its magnanimity,

lives not just

for itself,

by itself

provides habitat

for flora and fauna:

a tree is diversity;

I love that about a tree,

And hope that for each community.

And a note…

Having lichens growing on your rocks, trees and ground around your property is a good thing. That means the air you breathe in is healthy and clean.

America’s answer to the intolerant man is diversity – the very diversity which our heritage of religious freedom has inspired.

  1. Thanks for sharing this poem. I am currently reading Katherine Applegate’s Wishtree to my 5th graders. The book and this poem focus on trees as communities.
