My students will notice the differences, and that then becomes the conversation, because choices were made by an author and a screenwriter. So:
What is the message of each, the book and the movie?
What are the differences? How does the difference affect the message, and its understanding?
What is the same? How does this affect the message, and its understanding?
Why do you think these choices were made?
Which choices do you think are most effective and why?
If you were to make a movie of the book, what would you include or change? How would your choices affect the message and the audience’s understanding of it?
I’ll be curious as to what the students think. I wonder what they will say about the choices authors make. It’s the choosing that’s important. Because, in choosing….
In choosing, …. what do you think?
