If you hear the rattle, you’re already too close. Try to determine where the snake is so you can stay six feet away. Do not move things around it. Do not try to touch it, even with a stick. Leave it alone. They are poisonous and bite.

Whenever you are on hike, always be careful where you step and where you put your hands. You never know what’s disguised beside you in camouflage!
