Today I stayed in Beaverton, OR, USA for my granddaughter’s wedding. The antipode — the geological opposite– of Beaverton is:

Port-aux-Français, Kerguelen, French Southern Territories.

And the story in this remote and lonely island is:

Windy and 45° F outside, I button my coat and lean in until I reach the meteorological lab to track storms headed to Madagascar. Looking forward to popcorn and a date at the one entertainment: a cinema.
