Evergreen, Oregon Grape

Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. Today the sun shone for us— a bright day even in the cold. It’s only 33°F. As always in winter, the Oregon grape did not disappoint: its purple and green leaves sparkled in the light, dazzling in front of us as we rest on the bench during our walk in the sunshine.

Evergreen

Oh see how the sun shines brightly
On the purple and the green
of the Oregon grape’s sightly
Leaves in the winter scene
Even the cloudy cold’s biting
Harms not this evergreen.
