Day 569 In The Universe

Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. On our drive last week through the Dry Falls, Wa area, we loved this ancient view of the sculpted basalt columns, plucked away and apart during the many floods of Glacial Lake Missoula. We are barely a presence in the universe, and the evidence in the old rocks below the glorious skies remind us to be humble in nature’s realm.

In the Universe

In the universe

we are not even a dot;

the sky and the rocks

are greater than ever we—

even with our ships to stars.
