Air Quality

We have been staying inside– the smoke really bothers Scott and eventually, I feel it too. Purple Air puts our air quality at the red zone — everyone affected:

It doesn’t LOOK too bad, but step outside and you can feel thicker air and the smell of forests burning.

Where are the fires?

Many people wonder how to know where the fires are– and I was thankful for this tweet by the Northwest Interagency Coordination Center @NWCCInfo

As of Monday, July 26, there are 16 large active fires in the Northwest. But where are they? This new 🗺 shows the exact location of large active 🔥fires in the Pacific Northwest! 👇

That tweet leads to the agency’s blog and the website. The blog provides detailed information from official sources for wildfires in the Pacific Northwest. The website shows a map of the current fires in Washington and Oregon.

The smoke from the wildfires on the west coast have reached New York [ National Geographic] ! Our earth is on fire and our air filled with toxic fumes and ash.

I am so thankful we have power and the air conditioning and air purifiers inside our old cottage to keep us safe from 100° F heat and the dangerous smokey air.
