450.41 Nature’s Clothes Line

Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. Today I walked out the backdoor and found garden gloves on the lilac bush, drying– on nature’s clothes line. I laughed.

Nature’s Clothes Line

After
Digging in dirt
Adding in water
Stirring and loosening
Preparing a new home
Gently spreading roots
Setting the cranesbill
Just so—
Filling, Tamping
To gently fill
So scalloped leafed plant
Can grow.
Just hang wet gloves on
Nature’s clothes line,
The sturdy lilac branch.
