450.31 Choosing Different
Daily Note
Every day, a photograph, a poem.
Today my dinner napkins arrived. They are from Spoonflower and are printed from own art design.
[lThe artwork started out as a stretch– something new and in colors and a style not of my own liking. But I kept working and mixing and changing until it became something. Then I discovered with a few tweaks it could be part of the Spoonflower Rococo Design Challenge: I didn’t win, nor was I part of the top 100– but I am on page 2 of the [losers] list, which is amazing and I am pleasantly surprised!
I am also pleasantly surprised at how delightful the design actual is printed on the napkins. So my lesson is to keep trying and reworking and getting it into something. Because sometimes, it works.
Choosing Different
Learning new,
Choosing different—
Sometimes a different
path
Sometimes a different
style
Sometimes a new
way
Stretches your vision
Moves you to try
Expects you to not give up
And not give in
But keep going and
Sometimes this
fails
Sometimes this
works
Sometimes this
surprises
Choosing different—
Learning new.
