May Doodle

My CLmooc friends doodle every day. May’s prompts are from Rachelle at TinkerLab — #tinkerlab. 

Today the prompt is doodle, but since it is Memorial Day, I thought I’d “doodle” the USS Black Hawk, the naval ship on which my 94 year old uncle served on during WWII.

I wanted to give the impression of the expanse of ocean under the sky above us all, and ship, a support for other ships and missions far away from home in service of our freedom.

My uncle has memories and and memorabilia of this time, including a cruise book describing the ship and its missions and voyages.
