Day 410 AprilDoodle Dirt

April Doodle

My CLmooc friends doodle every day. April’s prompts are from Rachelle at TinkerLab — #tinkerlab

Today the prompt is dirt, and in the dirt in my yard grow the lovely periwinkle.

Completed the floral in native brushes. The texture overlay is the native brush “noise” in the same color as background set to color burn.

The inspiration for this type of watercolor is Lettie Blue‘s Skillshare class, Ink and Watercolor — Stamp and Paint in Procreate.

I created the stamps for the floral in three inked line illustrations: the periwinkle, the bud, the four leaves. And, the dirt.

I then stamped and arranged my own stamps into the scene and applied native brushes for the watercolor.

The texture overlay is the native brush “noise” painted over the entire layer in the same color as background set to color burn.

The frame is textured with a brush from Jennifer Nichols’ classes on Skillshare [linen].

It took hours, and I enjoyed every minute trying to get the effect I wanted. I think I love it.
