Day 405 Thorn Bush

Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. Today’s poem talks right in the poem about the thorn bush. Hence, a “place” poem. We found two varieties lining the sidewalk of our daily walk: one a love red leaved and the other the usual spring green. But both had delicate flowers hanging upside down between the thorns, and the green one held a wasp’s nest. I could not resist the photo or poem.

A Place Poem

On Earth Day the thorn bush

in red and green leaves lined the sidewalk

on our daily walk; this one holds home to

berries on the top right,

a wasp’s nest just above,

and upside down blossoms below,

all between the thorns I took care not to touch.
