Day 376 A Place of Their Own

A Place of Their Own

Freedom to explore

and imagine, kids create

places of their own.

Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. The day before yesterday, we noticed some young teens playing on the old pipes on the hillside in the park– good kids, just exploring.

Yesterday, I noticed up on the ridge a little something shiny just above the place the kids had been.

Today, we saw the large shiny aluminum and thought we would investigate. This little shelter we found, built by the kids. Had they not used the emergency thermal blanket, we may not have discovered their hide-away. They will probably figure that out and disguise it, because they need a place of their own. All kids need places to explore and imagine so they can create spaces for becoming their own beings. Don’t you think?
